Marta Feletto, Senior Scientist

Dr Marta Feletto is a Senior Scientist with the Global Forum for Health Research in Geneva, Switzerland.

Prior to joining the Global Forum, Marta worked extensively in Canada. As a research coordinator at the University of Montreal, she supervised several IDRC-funded research programmes on equity and access to health care and services in West Africa and South-East Asia. Her research and publications have covered topics such as the determinants of health inequalities, and policy analysis and poverty in low- and high-income countries. Marta also taught at York University in Toronto.

An Italian national, Marta collaborated with the Provincial Governments of Treviso and Trento (Italy), where she translated research findings to policy makers to support the formulation of equity-oriented policies and programmes.

Marta has extensive experience in quantitative research. She has contributed to several large-scale research projects, including the Gender and Work Database (York University, Toronto), the Italian Household Longitudinal Study (University of Milano-Bicocca, Milan), and a Community-Based Monitoring System (University of Montreal and Centre for Development Studies, Kerala).

Marta received her doctoral degree in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Trento (Italy), where she obtained her Master’s degree (hons) in Social Policy and Planning. She also holds a professional master’s degree in adult education.
