e-readiness presented by MS. It would explore a framework for

identify where new "tools" (such as drugs, vaccines or
diagnostics) are needed to achieve the health-related
Millennium Development Goals, as well as to illustrate the role played
by not-for-profit partnerships in their development.

Health Metrics Network: developing routine information systems
as a platform for health research
hosted by the Bill & Melinda Gates
Foundation
In this information and discussion
session, a status report will be given on the Health
Metrics Network (HMN), and we invite those who have used or
are using routine information system data (vital events
records, DSS, NHA, census, etc) to briefly and informally
describe their research. Discussion will focus on around the
current advantages and constraints of using this type of data
and how that landscape could be improved in the future. The
session will develop ideas on information system design that would meet the needs
of health researchers.
