Core values

Health as a right

Health is a fundamental human right of every human being without distinction of ability, ethnicity, gender, political belief, social or economic condition, race or religion.

Equity as a principle

Reducing inequities in health within and between populations is central to the mission of the Global Forum. Research has a vital role to play in ensuring that interventions increase equity by being designed and executed in a manner that addresses the needs of the least well-off groups – the poorest, most marginalized and disadvantaged in society.

Research as an indispensable tool

Good health for everyone will be achieved only with the support of more research and innovation devoted to discovering and delivering effective health interventions and to uncovering and addressing the biological, economic, environmental, political and social determinants of health.
