Forum 2009 highlights
Forum 2009 was one of our most successful forums in terms of engagement with more than 900 participants from 85 different countries, content of sessions and diversity of stakeholders. By underlining how innovation can play a role in achieving health equity for poor and disadvantaged populations, the Forum's Programme included innovative case studies from social entrepreneurs and innovative approaches to priority setting and health systems strengthening.

Marta Feletto, Senior Scientist with the Global Forum, undertook a study to ascertain the extent of financed research carried out on communicable diseases (CDs) and noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in 2008, at the request of the WHO Expert Working Group on R&D Financing.
The Global Forum for Health Research believes that responsive and high quality health systems are those that use research to inform decision-makers.
